Apple released iOS 14.4.2 and iOS 12.5.2 To All iPhone Users

Apple has just released iOS 14.4.2 and iOS 12.5.2, an urgent update which fixes security issues, heating problem and battery problem. Size of the update depends on which iPhone you are using, for my iPhone 7 it is of 136.8 MB.

Apple recently released iOS 14.4.2  and iOS 12.5.2, an important security update that should be installed by all iPhone users right now. The security update to iOS 14.4.2 or iOS 12.5.2 fixes the vulnerability of the Apple WebKit engine, which the iPhone maker claims has already been exploited.

That means the security issue is not only on all iPhones running iOS versions before iOS 14.4.2, but attackers may already have the information, and use it to attack Apple devices.

Apple has seen so much danger that it has also released iOS 12.5.2 so that people with models like iPhone 6, iPhone 5S and older iPads can also update their iOS 12 operating system.

Here is the list of iPhones that are compatible with iOS 14.4.2 update:-
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s+
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7+
  • iPhone SE (First Genration)
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8+
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS MAX
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE 2020
  • iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max

The sudden release of iOS 14.4.2 is the latest in a series of emergency security settings in recent weeks.

Details are not available, but Apple claims that the issue fixed in iOS 14.4.2 could allow a malicious website to run an incompatible script. As Sean Wright, the operational security of the SME system at Immersive Labs explains, cross-site scripting gives attackers many ways to attack you. This could include redirecting you to a phishing scam or malicious site, taking action on a site on your behalf, or retrieving information from your browsing session. Since this is on WebKit, it can affect any site you visit, and potentially many applications.

Combine this with the fact that it has been actively exploited, and all iPhone users should update to iOS 14.4.2 for users using iPhone 6s and above or to iOS 12.5.2 for users using iPhone 6 or below models.

Many people are waiting to update their iPhones due to bugs in older versions of iOS. But since iOS 14.4.2 is a pure security update, it is important that you install it now. This will ensure that your iPhone is protected from malicious attackers.

Heating and Battery issue

If you are getting any network related issue, the issue will not get solved in this update because their is no change in the modem firmware.

Your battery health is getting affect due to the over heating of iPhone but apple slightly decreased the performance of iPhones in the update because of this the phone will not heat and will not affect the battery health.
